COLO SPRGS, CO (Sept. 13, 2022) – The 2022 300-Meter Rifle National Championship and Selection Match, held in Elk River, Minnesota, has concluded and National Champions have been crowned.
Rifle athletes competed in 3×20, Prone, and Standard Rifle events during the four-day match.
Denise Loring, from Virginia, took home gold in the Women’s 3×20. Abigail Winegarden, of North Carolina, won silver and Michelle Bohren, of Michigan, earned bronze.
Tim Sherry, a soldier in the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), won gold in the Men’s 3×20. Ivan Roe, also in the AMU, won silver, and Bradley Yliniemi, of Minnesota, took home bronze.
In Women’s Prone, Loring picked up another gold medal. Bohren earned silver and Winegarden took home bronze.
Yliniemi picked up more hardware in Men’s Prone where he won gold. Roe earned silver in the event, and Sherry took home bronze.
In the Standard Rifle event, Roe took home gold, Sherry earned silver, and Yliniemi won bronze.
This competition also served as the selection match for the 300m Rifle 2022 World Championship team.
Bradley Yliniemi, Ivan Roe, and Tim Sherry made the Men’s 300m Rifle team and Denise Loring, Abigail Winegarden, and Michelle Bohre qualified for the Women’s 300m Rifle team.
